Sustainability in action

Corporate governance

There is no doubt that the quality of corporate governance is a key indicator of the health of our business. As part of the Westpac Group, we support Westpac's business principles and commitments that ensure transparency, fair dealing and the protection of stakeholder interests.

Westpac's Corporate Governance

Socially responsible investments

BTFG offer Socially Responsible Investment (SRI) funds which are managed by BT Investment Management (BTIM). BTIM’s SRI team seek opportunities to invest in companies that implement and display sustainable principles in their business strategies.

We have also signed the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI). As a signatory, where consistent with our fiduciary responsibilities, we’re committed to incorporating environmental, social and governance issues into our investment analysis and decision making processes across our entire range of investments.

Sustainable products

BT Super for Life - a revolutionary superannuation fund that you can see and manage through Westpac Online - demonstrates our commitment to developing sustainable products both in design and investment choices.

As an online product BT Super for Life reduces the use of paper and also offers you investment options which are sustainably and ethically invested. With BT Super for Life you can help reconcile your social and environmental concerns with your financial goals.

In addition we’ve implemented continuous improvement strategies to reduce our environmental footprint. Strategies include the increased use of online statements and reducing our Product Disclosure Statement sizes.

Sustainability reports

Through our parent company Westpac, we produce a Stakeholder Impact Report which sets out the group’s non-financial performance across more than 110 indicators covering the environmental, social and governance aspects of our business.
